About the event
Celebrating International Yoga Day and Matariki together on this wonderful winter solstice. IYD has been officially recognized by the United Nations and celebrated worldwide since 2014, uniting millions in a global movement for health and harmony. I've organsied or been part of something special held in or near Twizel every year, and this year is unique in that Matariki falls at the same time and can easily be brought into the mix.
We'll breathe, practise asanas, meditate and experience the awareness, clarity and good feelings that come with yoga practice.
Share tea and an immunity elixir.
We'll be making a humble attempt incorporate some of the key elements of Matariki - our sense of community, connection nature and intentions for the new year, into our practice in a unique and sweet creative way.
If the weather is good we'll do some of our practice nearby on the frisbee golf course.
